ORANGE PARK CHORALE TO PRESENT “MEDITATIONS OF THE HEART” FALL PERFORMANCES ON NOVEMBER 4 & 5

ORANGE PARK, FL – – The Orange Park Chorale invites the public to enjoy community voices joined together in song as the group presents its free fall vocal concert, “Meditations of the Heart,” in two performances. 

On Saturday, November 4, at 4:00pm, The Orange Park Chorale will perform at the Penney Memorial Church, 4465 Poling Boulevard, Penney Farms. The second concert is scheduled for Sunday, November 5 at 4:00pm at the Orange Park Presbyterian Church, 1905 Park Avenue, Orange Park. Both concerts are free. Donations will be accepted.

Under the direction of Artistic Director David Holladay, the “Meditations of the Heart” concert selections will include sacred music featuring Gospel Magnificat: My Soul Doth Magnify the Lord by Robert Ray, O Love, Elaine Hagenberg’s fresh arrangement of the hymn by George Matheson, and Festival Te Deum by John Leavitt. Secular music includes Loch Lomond arranged by Jonathan Quick, as well as two Civil War selections including Ashokan Farewell from the soundtrack of the Ken Burns’ PBS Series “The Civil War” arranged by Carole Stephens, and Dance for Love, Z. Randall Stroope’s arrangement from an 1865 Civil War poem by William Straub.

The Orange Park Chorale, founded in 1992, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The group’s mission is, “To provide opportunities for community participation in the area of choral music. The Chorale’s goal is to provide excellence in the choral arts and to enhance the cultural life of communities in Northeast Florida.” Throughout its history, the members of The Orange Park Chorale have been committed to maintaining the group’s core values of: Musical Excellence, Fellowship, Mutual Respect, Character, and Dedication.
